Just added a new show this Saturday night at McMullins Irish Pub @ The Cellblock in Williamsport.  I had an awesome time there at each of my two shows there last month so I expect another great time this weekend....take a road trip and come on out!

Jason here with a quick update.  I just added several new shows for the month of June, including my first visit to The Cellblock in Williamsport, which should be a really fun night.  I have six shows over the next two weeks and for me, that is pretty damn busy.  I did a show last night in Gettysburg with Rhyne McCormick.  By far, one of the coolest venues I've been, a perfect room for solo performers like myself.  The crowd was small but very appreciative and I'm hoping that I can get back there for a show of my own there sometime this fall.  It's always a pleasure to do a show with Rhyne McCormick and last night was no exception.  Rhyne just released a fantastic new album that people in these parts are already buzzing about so check out the Links section to visit his website and pick up a copy of his CD.  Speaking of cds, mine should be available for purchase online by the end of June...I will keep you posted.  I'm off to see Doves in Philadelphia tonight so I am stoked.  Take care of yourselves and hopefully I'll see some of you at my last JP Edwards show this Wednesday night....bye for now*

Jason here with my first message in quite some time.  2005 has been off to an interesting start.  Events have occurred and are about to occur in the coming weeks are going to change my life significantly for the next few years.  These changes will be both good and bad, though the end result will be a destination I've needed to arrive at for some time now.  However, one of the results of these changes will be the de-emphasis of my part-time music career.  I won't be giving up playing shows but I will likely be playing a lot less than I have been playing over the past three years.  In some ways that makes me sad but on some level I feel I actually need a break...a break from second guessing myself, a break from constantly trying to impress people, and a break to figure out what exactly it is I want to get out of playing music in public.  I will continue to play at the Hublersburg Inn every month but dates at other venues will be sporadic at best.  I will continue to write and record, as this is the aspect of being a musician that I enjoy the most.  Late last year I began recording a solo acoustic project with my producer Mike Bratt at his home in Belleville, with the sessions made up of songs that I wrote before the songs that made up Leave the Bliss Behind.  I still have several songs that I'd like to record and I have yet to decide on a tracklisting or title for the project, but I hope to release it before the end of this year.  Another full-band studio album is also in the works....I've written over 25 songs since 2002 and I'm anxious to get some of them out there for people to hear.  If you've been to any recent shows you've probably heard some of them.  Finally, I would like to thank everyone that has purchased a copy of Leave the Bliss Behind.  Believe me when I say that you all have no idea how much the support has meant to me.  From the early rehearsals with Mike Bratt to releasing to cd in January, LTBB was a nearly 3-year journey that was at times painful, at times wonderful, but ultimately resulted in a project that I consider the biggest accomplishment of my life to this point.  Thank you for letting me share it with all of you.  Talk to you soon............Jason*

Webmaster Alex going incognito with an unapproved update here on JasonThomasMusic.com. Tax day has come and gone and since President Bush gives us all such amazing tax breaks everyone should be swimming in green from their refund checks. If you've got the extra greenbacks drop a couple of bucks on Jason's CD. It was released early in the year without much fanfare, but it defintely deserves it. I heard Howie Day's single on the radio getting tons of airplay and if you like Howie's stuff pick up Jason's disk... It's similar in musical style with deeper lyrics, not to mention that Jason's a local artist who wrote and arranged everything on his own time and dime. I'm a hip-hop fan and I dig the CD, so definitely check it out. Email Jason (jason@jasonthomasmusic.com) to get a copy.

hello, hello....jason here with my first message in some time...as you can see, the new website is a work in progress but looking better each and every day with the hard work of my good friend and occasional roadie alex nepa....eventually we will have audio and even some video for you to enjoy...which brings me, of course, to the album...i am very happy to tell you that the album is finally complete...that's right, after a year in the studio we have finally put the finishing touhces on "Leave the Bliss Behind"....the master tape should be sent away along with the sleeve design to be manufactured by early april, meaning the finished product should be in my hands (and then hopefully into yours!) by the end of april or early may at the very latest....i know that this process has been going on for what seems like an eternity but i truly believe that the final product has been well worth the wait and i hope that you will agree when you hear it....i will keep you posted on the final product progress and how you can purchase a copy of the album.....in other news, i have been playing regularly at two area venues over the past several months, the hublersburg hotel in hublersburg and mango's tropical cafe in williamsport...both venues have been awesome to me and i'd especially like to thank the patrons who have come out to these spots on multiple occasions to see me play, for it is greatly appreciated by yours truly....i'm working on getting some shows at some more new venues throughout the region and as soon as things are official, you will find all of the info here on the site...thanks for visiting the site and for expressing interest in my music...2004 has already started off on a tremendous foot and i believe it is only going to get better....think spring and think positively...this is an election year and i believe that help is on the way....take care*

alex here with a few quick notes on last night's show at mango's in williamsport, which in case you missed it was awesome! jason played one of his best shows to date and was on top of his game in every way possible. there was a great crowd that made the trek through the icey weather to have some drinks and sing along. jason booked another show at mango's for march 27, and he's got a few gigs at hublersburg hotel in the meantime and an all originals show at websters in state college where we'll be videotaping some clips for the website. email jason if you've got any requests...

webmaster alex here with a quick update. i'm sitting here watching american idol thinking about how sad the state of music is when there is a ton of talented bands and individual talent out there (*cough* jason thomas) and we're stuck having to watch and listen to this crap on fox-tv. if you're like me, and a ton of other people you want to hear musical talent that can write their own music and perform covers with passion. last friday we saw just that at mango's as jason thomas rocked the happy hour crowd and had quite a few folks signing along. if you missed the show last week you can check jason out this week again from 7PM-9PM at mango's in williamsport. there's no cover charge, they've got free food and drinks are half price... just in case you need more incentive to join us. mango's also attracts some of the most beautiful women around, so be sure to stop by and buy us a drink after the set! see you on friday!

happy new year....lots of things happening as 2004 begins....the next two weekends will see the completion of the album, as i will be in jamestown putting the finishing touches on what has been a nearly one-year project....if all goes as planned, i would expect the album to be available by late february or early march...i will be taking preorders on the album to help offset the manufacturing costs for the cd and will have details soon on how you can do that....the album release will coincide with the launch of an all-new website here at jasonthomasmusic.com work is currently being done on that by my friend alex nepa and it is guaranteed to be a much, much, much more pleasant site to visit!!! you can expect shows at a host of new venues in 2004, and that began last night at mangos tropical cafe in williamsport...thanks to liz and troy at mangos for making me feel at home and for inviting me for two more appearances in the next month....its a very cool bar with a great atmosphere and anyone in the williamsport area should do themselves a favor and check it out, its located on pine street, inside the radisson hotel...i will be playing 7-9 happy hours there and after i am done, the party turns up quite a bit with some great djs....february will also see me playing a very acoustic show...no mics or amps....at websters bookstore cafe in downtown state college, right next to ben and jerrys on allen street...websters is a neat little college bookstore with great drinks and snacks and a huge selection of obscure and hard-to-find books....i will be playing an all-originals show, a first for me, so it should be a fun and interesting show...hope my friends in state college can make it out....there will be much more happening this year and i am looking forward to all of it...thanks for reading and stay tuned for more news soon.....adios..............................................jason* more news >
